Austin

Elizabeth Quintanilla the CHEESEBURGER!!

This week has been Fascinating with lots of emphasis on online reputation and reputation management.  There is actually a lot to this and much more to consider than just being careful with what pictures end up on Facebook or MySpace.   Essentially, I really enjoy the concept of thinking of myself as my own Inc. or better yet a cheeseburger!

ProductCamp and Me

ProductCamp Austin Summer 2009: Register today!

As of this morning, we have 399 registered attendees! I have been an active planning committee member for ProductCamp Austin Summer 2009.  We are very fortunate to be sponsored by Moot Corp at the McCombs School of Business.  So far, I have really enjoyed working with really active members of the Product Management Community such as Paul Young (@ptyoung) and Bertrand Hazard (@hazarbx).  It will be awesome and proud to be a McCombs alumni with the McCombs School of Business sponsoring this community organized conference.

ProductCamp Austin will be on  Saturday, August 15, 2009. I’m really looking forward to hanging around a lot of smart product managers and product marketing managers, taking in the sessions and contributing anyway I can - look for me with the A/V equipment and making sure that we maintain our great relationship with the McCombs School of Business.  Introduce yourself and I look forward to hearing about your product management and marketing management experiences...

Run Fat Girl Run! Part 2

We won 3rd place for our division! Crossing the finishing line is amazing and somehow out of nowhere - you get an extra boost to run over the line. Now at peace with a big smile that I finished my 2nd triathlon - all 800 meter swim, 11.3 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run/walk is now over. We competed in the Mixed Friends 99 and over category which had 4 teams and 1 team didn't finish. All experienced triathletes will say that it is an accomplishment to just finish your first triathlon. Guess what?

Independence Day Reflections

We live in the best country in the world. I am proud of Austin and the United States. I really like the fact that I was able to get an education, drive an SUV, fly gliders, swim, bike, run, dive, and hang out with friends all without living in fear for my basic safety. Also, I was able to work for NASA and then go back to school and get that MBA degree. Freedom is a wonderful thing. Freedom to choose what we do, what we believe in, what we wear, what we eat, where we live, and to think and learn! This is a big deal after traveling to other countries such as Vietnam and India.
