She'll be coming around the mountain when she bikes/walk

While visiting family in Monterrey - Mexico, I took my mountain bike up to their park, Chipinque.  It is a 6.5 km trek from the base climbing a little more than 1250 meters.  For those used to US measurements, this is approximately a 4 mile trail with almost a 0.8 mile climb.

Me at the top of the trail at Chipinque!

Now, I wish that I was strong enough to ride my bike the entire distance but I rode about half-way and walked the rest.  You share a paved road with cars, buses, and park rangers.  However, the road is not the best for road bikes - it is cut into the mountain and dirt and rocks have fallen onto the road and you'll spend your time fixing a flat rather than enjoying the workout.  Plus, I actually use the lowest gear on the bike to ride up this "gentle little hill."

The best part of the ride is the most awesome German Chocolate cake at the Hotel!  :-)
